Delight Yourself

SpiritualAlignment1Everyday we awake in the world, there is a purpose; there is something to accomplish or to at least be moving in the direction of, as we go throughout the course of this life. So many of us for many years have lived with little or no expectation of anything improving or expanding in our lives. David, a man after God's own heart, gives us his insight into how spiritual alignment is not only possible but can lead you to the very desires of your heart.

PSALM 37:1-3

1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. 2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. 3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

First David tells us what not to do and how not to be, then how to be and what to do. Understand, our wrong attitudes must be put away before we ever can expect to get in spiritual alignment. We should never fear anything or anybody. We must let go of any bitterness or excessive anger we hold within. Realize God's enemies benefit from whites' over-preoccupation with worry in regards to them. Though God did not directly create them, they are not here by accident but are a scourge unto our people or to show us what not to want, how not to act, and how not to be. Until you recognize this as a racist, their presence here will haunt you, keeping you out of spiritual alignment with your Heavenly Father continually. Separate yourself from them and be prepared to protect yourself and your family if need be, but as far as your thought-life, dwell on them as little as possible.

There is also no need to be "envious" of them for instance, over their fame or how they're being handed so many jobs and opportunities. We will not get into spiritual alignment if we obsess over what they have gotten which we feel was supposed to be ours. STOP FOCUSING ON YOUR LACK BY BEING THANKFUL FOR WHAT YOU HAVE. For gratitude begins to align us by getting our eyes on our Gracious God Who is our endless Supply. We are not truly thankful if we live our lives dwelling on what we don't have. Be thankful for what you do have and "Trust in the LORD".

Why should we be so distracted by the enemies of God when their declared fate is that "they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb"?! The realization of their total expendability and extermination, along with accepting the eternality of our existence, should encourage us to seek spiritual alignment like never before! This present world in and of itself is passing away and really doesn't matter. Only what we can achieve in it for God's glory and for our people's good is all that matters.

"Fret not" is Strong's Exhaustive Concordance #2734 to blaze up, of anger... be wroth. It's so easy to boil over in anger because of the shape of this world with the presence of God's enemies. It can become a habit or even a lifestyle to be continually enraged over issues such as immigration or the injustices happening to whites in our neighborhoods, in the workplace, and around the world. Yet David tells us to "Fret not" over them as they will not be here long. They (along with their wicked ways) will cease to exist.

The Hebrew word for "Trust" is Strong's Exhaustive Concordance #982 to be confident or sure... be bold... careless. Spiros Zodhiates in the Hebrew Greek Key Word Study Bible defines it as "to attach oneself... to be careless... The basic idea is associated with firmness or solidity... results from knowing that the 'rug won't be pulled out from under you." Though we cannot fully understand God's ways, we can know that He is dependable and trustworthy. In a world of such uncertainty it is good to know our Heavenly Father is there and can be counted on no matter what. Therefore there is no need for white people to worry. Be confident that God is in you and with you, by trusting Him.

When we fret because of God's enemies (or even our own personal enemies) we are not trusting Him. Continually being drug back into excessive anger over them shows that we think there is something we can and must do because God isn't moving quick enough to suit us. Getting in spiritual alignment by putting our "Trust in the LORD" raises our focus off of the enemies of God to where we actually want to "do good" toward our people. Don't allow your hatred to consume you to where you're not looking for ways to do good to your fellow whites.

So we can either live our lives consumed in fear and anger over something that God already has well in hand, or we can trust Him and as the Brenton's Septuagint translates the end of verse 3: "be fed with the wealth of" the land; it's up to you. If you choose to trust in Yahweh it doesn't just stop there:

PSALM 37:4

4 Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

As we see, we will not "Delight" in Him unless we're first trusting in Him. Some people think all they must do is get worked up in an emotional frenzy on Sunday, while for the rest of the week all they do is worry and take matters into their own hands. If you trust Yahweh, delighting yourself in Him is just the natural overflow of the hope and expectation which is within you. Being in alignment with Yahweh isn't one dimensional or based on external measures, but delighting yourself in Him with your whole heart, soul, mind, and strength. For when we finally realize we have it all by knowing and belonging to Yahweh, then we are ready to have whatever it is we truly desire now. Being in spiritual alignment then is having your perspective of God as the top priority of your life.

This "desires" is Strong's Exhaustive Concordance #4862 from #7592 a request by extension to demand, require. Crucial is weighing in the balance your feeling of self-worth and truly what it is you want to accomplish thru receiving these requests. But once we have spent the time and sincere effort to determine what it is we really want, once we request it of Him, we should never stop expecting God to grant it. As long as we know having our desires will help us better fulfill the purpose of glorifying the Name of Yahweh, we should never question them.

According to this, what "shall" God "give thee"? Your deepest desires if you delight yourself in Him. These are not just cheap wants or lusts based on fleshy considerations, but desires which reflect your hope for the greatest Christian life possible. How and with what would you be most effective in your service to God? What in life would bring you the most fulfillment and bring God the most glory? These are the kinds of questions which bring about determining just what it is you believe God will provide for you.

The key to receiving the desires of your heart is delighting in the LORD. To delight is to think about something or Someone with strong feeling and emotion. And it's not that someone else is to ignite this in you, but "thyself". This requires consistent, conscious effort. David says "also" because this is the overflow and proof that you are truly trusting God. If you feel good when you think about what God is doing in your life, you are becoming that much closer to Him giving you "the desires of your heart." Delighting yourself in Him is the way to express your sincerity in wanting to be in spiritual alignment with Him.

This is where the actual necessity for spiritual aligment begins, with "the desires of thine heart". God is not selfish, He is the Father of Lights; He wants to give you good things, opportunities, and relationships. He just wants us to desire things which reflect our delight in Him. As His child, this is what is best for you to have the most blessed and fulfilling life possible. If you will take the time to put forth the effort to determine that which would express the most delight you have in your heart for God, "he shall give thee the desires of thine heart."

As we have noted before, to "Delight thyself" is Strong's Exhaustive Concordance #6026 to be soft or pliable. Are you willing to bend over backwards to please God and see your desires come to pass?! Remember, without faith it is impossible to please Him. Christ said, "And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive" (Matthew 21:22). This is to put your full attention on delighting yourself or feeling good about trusting God. This indicates you are changing yourself from the inside. Spiros Zodhiates agrees it is "to require... to demand". In other words, we are so sure of God's future fulfillment of our desires by faith, it is as sure as a demand. The more we trust Him, the more we delight ourselves in Him, and the more we are willing to go thru to receive our desires; the more we prove our faith.

What do you believe God wants you to have, be, and accomplish for His ultimate glory in this life? Spend the time searching deep within your heart to find out. This is what trusting in Yahweh and delighting yourself in Him is all about; recognizing that you have a future in Him and that He wants to bless and use you more. Living by faith isn't thinking God is some kind of a genie in a bottle. It is wanting to know what is God's best for your life which can lead to the knowledge and acquisition of the desires of your heart. Once you know, then you ask God, undoubtedly expecting Him to deliver.

Why are we taught wanting things from God is somehow wrong when we have it so clearly in the Scriptures? Here we see that He wants to give us the very desires of our hearts. David was described as "a man after God's own heart" because his desires were the same as God's desires. SPIRITUAL ALIGNMENT IS HAVING YOUR DESIRES IN ALIGNMENT WITH HIS DESIRES FOR YOUR LIFE. Do you believe the way your life is now or what is in your life is God's best for you, or is there more? What a testimony David had, and we can have this as well when we see the importance of pursuing spiritual alignment. Throughout the life of David we see God granting him the desires of his heart continually. Why should we ever doubt the words of a man who we see experiencing this himself as much as anyone in the Bible?

PSALM 37:5

5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

During your wait and after you receive your God-given desires, "Commit thy way unto the LORD" never to stray. The Hebrew word for "thy way" is Strong's Exhaustive Concordance #1870 defined as course of life or mode of action. Have you committed your way to God? Are you confident He is pleased with the way you go about your life and treat His people? If the answer is 'yes' then there is no reason you shouldn't expect Him to bring your desires to pass, your way.

Your way is the way you are and the way you live. One should only commit his way to Yahweh if he truly feels his way is pleasing to Yahweh. The way you treat others, the way you handle yourself and do business may need to change, if you long for spiritual alignment. For if your way doesn't please Yahweh, then you will not commit it to Him and you will not expect for Him to bring anything to pass in your life that you have asked for.

What will He bring to pass? Your way to reaching your desires. Your way is just as important as what you desire and what you do. Is your way love or is it only hate? Is your way selfish or for the betterment of your family and people? It must be a way that does not fret over enemies, while trusting and delighting yourself in Him. These are the perameters of being in spiritual alignment. From start to finish we must measure our hearts, while remaining true to these principles.

To "Commit" is Strong's Exhaustive Concordance #1556 which is remove, roll (away, down, together), run down, seek occasion. This carries with it the idea of us getting so close in alignment with God that His way becomes our way, that His Spirit carries us to the point where we become one with His purpose for our lives. We remove our agendas and become one with His.

Is your life completely open to God with nothing to hide, nothing you are ashamed of? Brenton's Septuagint (which is an English Old Testament translation from the Greek) translates "Commit" as disclose. This would carry the idea of having nothing hidden in your life. In other words, nothing is more important to you than being completely open with God about everything in your life. Sometimes there are hidden attitudes, even hidden sins which we may try to conceal. Yet let us never forget that God lives in us and misses nothing going on in our lives. We must recognize this and know that it does no good to try to hide anything from Him anyway. Therefore we should seek His cleansing of our hearts and minds so there is absolutely nothing in our way to God's richest blessings.

We must continually reaffirm our trust in God. Maintaining alignment is realizing that trusting God isn't a one time thing as some in judeochristianity teach. It is continuously kept and renewed from beginning to end within every circumstance we go thru and in each decision we make. Trusting God should always be our first consideration. As we've stated in previous studies, it all comes down to what you believe and how you feel. Stop allowing your emotions to control your thoughts. Recognize when you feel bad and take control of your feelings with your mind. Our trust in God is threatened in our minds when we allow worry, doubt, and fear to creep in and prevail. The way you can know when your trust is slipping is by how you feel. If you lose your feeling of peace, identify whatever thoughts or circumstances which have triggered it and take control of your carnal mind by replacing the bad thoughts with good ones or by doing something that makes you feel good and at peace again. Our Father wants to "bring" some things "to pass" in and thru our lives. But we must seek to maintain spiritual alignment with Him.

PSALM 37:6

6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.

This is the afterglow which permeates from those who are in spiritual alignment with Him. As He grants us the desires of our heart, it results in visible righteousness confirming that our "judgment" in pursuing things this way is as consistent with the Scriptures as the appearing of the rays of "the noonday" sun. There will be doubters and scoffers who will think you've lost your mind. Yet the only mind you have lost is your carnal mind, as you now prove you are utilizing the mind of Christ.

Here we see our "righteousness" is not something hidden, but something God Himself in us "shall bring forth". Since the only way to attain righteousness is by faith then this is what spiritual alignment comes down to. God wants to bring forth something wonderful in and thru your life. But we must recognize the importance of finding that consistent alignment we need with God, that only living by faith provides. The result is as obvious as "the light" shining for all to undeniably see. This is so simple for God to perform as He is Light. Spiritual alignment makes you shine and reflect His perfect Light for all to see. His Spirit within us shines thru as we use the desires God has blessed us with to be an example and to help our brothers and sisters who are in need. The way it is "thy righteousness" is only by your faith. We give God our faith and He counts it as our righteousness.

This wonderful experience can occur in your life, if you will first seek a balance in your anger towards the enemies of God and even your own personal enemies. Fire produces two things, hot air and light. If you are sick of only producing hot air from the fire within you, turn your focus off of this ungodly world and get in spiritual alignment. God will project the light of your love for His people from inside you to them.
